- By ANTHONY GIRON

TRECE MARTIRES, Cavite — The provincial government is supporting the plan to put up economic zones in the coastal municipalities of Tanza and Naic for more job opportunities.

Governor Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla Jr. said that the industrial and commercial zones set to rise in the two neighboring towns in three years are perceived to generate over 50,000 jobs.

Remulla made the foresight in a message he rendered during the distribution of first semester scholarship grants to 2,023 students in a recent simple ceremony at SM CityDasmariñas Cinema II and III.

During the gathering, Remulla distributed grants amounting to P6,517,000 to students from different schools under the Provincial Scholarship Program.

In his message, the 47-year-old governor said that he sees the rise of economic zones in Tanza and Naic from 2016 to 2019 and some other progress, including the free wi-fi connection in the whole province and other benefits under the administration's recently-launched “Lingkod Kabitenyo” or Caviteño Service program.

Remulla encouraged the scholars to go on with their studies and be part of the provincial growth.

The governor said he wanted everyone “to be counted” with job provision amid the unemployment situation in the country.

Cavite has the biggest economic zone in the country with its vast industrial and commercial establishments in the municipalities of Rosario, General Trias, Carmona and Silang and the cities of Dasmariñas, Imus and Bacoor, excluding the developments in Tagaytay City and some other areas in the province.

There are about nine industrial areas under the Philippine Export Zone Authority (PEZA) namely the Cavite Economic Zone in Rosario municipality, Cavite Economic Zone II and Gateway Business Park in General Trias, Daiichi Industrial Park (Silang), EMI Special Economic Zone (Imus City), First Cavite Industrial Estate (Dasmariñas City), Golden Mile Business Park and Peoples Technology Complex in Carmona and SM City Bacoor (Bacoor City).
