Shoot gems and store them for keeps
In 1997, RV Mitra was given a Minolta SLR as a high school graduation present. This would soon lead his career into a professional photographer, pursuing passion in expressing art forms through the still images he captured.
The constantly evolving world demands for people like RV Mitra to change and growth, in order to stand toe-to-toe in the modern world. Howevever, this does not mean the old world will come to an end to make room for the new. Development comes in the form of a skillful and tactical blending of both old and new, and that, in our book, is innovation.
For RV Mitra, he needed to make this change, applying new methods to supplement his profession. He shifted from analog to digital cameras, which allowed him to store images and videos into the digital space.
However, challenges were always on the horizon. Mitra has the risk of encountering of breaking SD cards, and data corruption. This prompted him to seek out the best storage brand that can ensure him a peace of mind.
This is where Mitra discovered WD products, after a friend of his suggested that he should start using external hard drives instead of storing data into a PC and constantly upgrading its memory -- which can be more expensive.
Mitra uses two WD products. A WD My Book Expert, where he stores all his main data, backups, and backups for backups. And then he uses a WD My Passport -- which is just a small, portable hard drive that we see almost everyday -- this allows him to stay mobile and flexible. After a photo shoot, he saves all data into the My Passport, and then copies them into the My Book Expert. The combination of the two has given Mitra the flexibility he needs to pursue his passion.
On one account, Mitra shares a client’s horror story. The bridge had approached him after about four years of her marriage, she said that she had lost all her wedding photos, and asked Mitra if by chance, he still had backups. He did, which was in an old external hard drive, buried along with all the other hard drives stacked with it.
This is another testament on why Mitra uses WD products. Even after four years, the files locked in the external hard drive were still in tact. This shows Mitra that WD has among the best security and durability to store files.
Mitra claimed to have tested other brands, saw the ups and downs of each, but in the end, it was WD he decided best suited his needs in the wedding photography scene. The security and the friendly-user interface while accessing the cloud services, were the deciding factors. (Carl Rogel Inocentes)
