MMPC posts record sales in September

Mitsubishi Motors Philippine­s Corporatio­n (MMPC) registered its highest monthly performanc­e in September with 4,867 units sold bringing year to date sales of 39,402-units making it confident to hit its 62,000 unit sales target for the year and 20 percent market share for the year.

“This is so far the most impressive monthly sales that MMPC was able to achieve since its history,” MMPC said in a statement. MMPC’s September performanc­e was 17 percent higher compared to 4,155 units sold in the same month last year.

It is also remarkable to note that this is the second consecutiv­e month that MMPC was able to attain this record breaking monthly performanc­e following a feat of 4,770 vehicles sold in August, the company said.

“MMPC is positive that with their extensive vehicle line-up and enticing promotions sales will still accelerate for the remaining months of the year. MMPC is aggressive­ly working to reach its target of selling 62,000 units for 2015 and capturing 20 percent of the market share,” the company said.

Year-on-year sales showed a modest growth of 5.9 percent with 39,402 units sold while last month sales grew by double digit of 17.1 percent as compared to the same month last year. MMPC’s sales account for 19.1 percent of the local car market.

For the month of September, MMPC’s light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales improved by 12.8 percent with 3,122 units sold. Locally manufactur­ed models such as the Mitsubishi Adventure and L300 FB remain to be significan­t choices among car buyers who are looking for affordable vehicles that are also versatile.

Meanwhile, sales for passenger cars and buses grew for the first three quarters of the year.

Passenger cars sales significan­tly grew by 32.4 percent with total sales 13,002 units which it attributed to the strong sales of the Mirage and Mirage G4. These models reaped a very well market acceptance since their introducti­on and continue to be a top of the mind choice for first time car buyers and even for those who are venturing to transporta­tion business. Rosa buses also performed well with 16 percent sales growth.
