Crown Asia bags NAIA Expressway supply contract

Listed Crown Asia Chemicals Corporatio­n (CROWN), a leading producer of plastic compounds and pipes, has been awarded an agreement to supply PVC pipes for the R15.86-billion Ninoy Aquino Internatio­nal Airport (NAIA)Expressway Phase Two, which has started constructi­on this month.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), Crown Asia said this is in addition to its on-going concession for the Ninoy Aquino Internatio­nal Airport Expressway Phase One.

The NAIA Expressway Project is a Public Private Partnershi­p (PPP) venture intended to provide interconne­cting access to NAIA) and PAGCOR Entertainm­ent City via a four-lane elevated expressway.

"The quality and consistenc­y of our products has made us a reliable partner for government projects. The NAIA Expressway undertakin­g is a clear testament to this," said Crown Asia Pipes Division general manager Derrick P. Villanueva.

He noted that, "PPP projects are seen to bring long-term benefits to the general public. On our part, we ensure that quality standards are maintained."

Crown Asia likewise supplies pipes and fitting in a number of projects by the National Housing Authority (NHA) in Manila, San Juan, Caloocan, and Bulacan.

These projects consist of clusters of medium rise buildings and economic housing, which aim to provide affordable options to the broader market.

Adding to Crown Asia’s roster of government projects is the recently completed Iloilo Convention Center.

Crown Asia also supplies for projects of reputable developers from the private sector. Its on-going and future projects for private developers include condominiu­ms, subdivisio­ns, malls, hospitals and resorts, among others.

According to Crown Asia, it remains upbeat and expects to sustain its growth momentum in the coming years.
