Big-time Iligan City drug dealer nabbed
The leader of the Buruun Drug Group and two of his cohorts were arrested by combined anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the enforcement of search warrants in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte on Thursday.
Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr., PDEA Director General, identified the suspects as Alberta Alfeche, 51; Froilan Verdad alias Ildo Verdad, 32; and Mary Cris Alfeche , 46, all residents of Purok 10A, Buru-un, Iligan City.
Cacdac said Alberta Alfeche is the leader of the Buruun Drug Group which has been operating in Lanao del Norte.
Cacdac said the apprehended suspects were in the target list of drug personalities of PDEA Regional Office 10 (PDEA RO 10) and PNP of 2015.
Cacdac said that, based on reports he received, the suspects were nabbed at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday by operatives of PDEA RO10 under the direct supervision of Director Wilkins M. Villanueva, Iligan City Police Office, Iligan City Police Station 4, and Iligan City Police Office-Intelligence Branch, on the strength of two search warrants issued against the Alfeches.
Seized from the Alfeches were 87 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet in different sizes containing suspected shabu weighing 60 grams with an estimated value of 84,000 and various drug paraphernalia.
On the same day, at around 6:30 am, the same law enforcement unit implemented a search warrant against Verdad that led to his arrest.
Seized from Verdad were four pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 20 grams of white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with an estimated value of P28, 000, one Colt 45 pistol with magazine and seven live ammunition and various drug paraphernalia.
