Games Today (The Arena, San Juan) 4:15 p.m. – Foton vs RC Cola 6:15 p.m. – Petron vs Cignal

Cignal tries to protect its pristine record when it goes for a repeat win over two-time champion Petron at the start of the second round of elimination in the 2015 Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

The HD Spikers clash with the Blaze Spikers at 6:15 p.m. with the former likewise seeking their sixth straight victory after completing a five-game sweep of the first round.

Due to their roller-coaster showing, Petron finished the first round with a 3-2 card.

All eyes will be on American import Ariel Usher who exploded for 36 points built around 29 kills and six aces in the team’s recent four-set triumph over RC Cola.

Usher also played a key role in the team’s thrilling 18-25, 17-25, 25-16, 2518, 16-14 win over Petron in the opener last Oct. 10.

Despite beating the Blaze Spikers in the first round, the HD Spikers have left no stone unturned in their preparation for their crucial tussle today.

The Blaze Spikers are hoping their one-week break will give local players like Rachel Anne Daquis, Dindin Santiago Manabat and Frances Molina more energy since of them are also playing in the other league.

But Petron’s success hinges on how import Rupia Inck would fare against Usher.

Out to provide additional power for Cignal are Amanda Anderson and Micmic Laborte.

In the other match, Foton and RC Cola try to untangle themselves from a logjam when they collide at 4:15 p.m.

Both the Tornadoes and the Air Force Raiders have similar 1-3 cards.
