Anti-vice agents arrest 19 suspects in Bulacan

BUSTOS, Bulacan — Police operations against illegal gambling, conducted by the Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG) and Bulacan police, resulted in the arrest of 19 operators of illegal gambling and the seizure of three firearms in Barangay Poblacion, here, the other night.

Chief Insp. Lovell U. Dalisay, Provincial Special Operations Group (PSOG) chief, said 19 suspects were arrested in a joint police operation against on-line “sabong” through satellite broadcast by the RSOG, backed up by Bulacan police officers.

Sr. Supt. Ferdinand O. Divina, Bulacan Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, identified the arrested as Marlon Cruz, 27; Melvin Cruz, 26; Ferdie Cruz; Erick Villalon, 32, all of Barangay, Malamig, Edwin Reobaldo, 46, of Barangay Poblacion, Bustos; France Carlo De Guzman, 21, of Taboc, Angat; Levi Tecson, 36, of Bahay Pare, Candaba, Pampanga; Rufino Cruz, 47; Luisito Gregorio, 37; Alden Jumaoas, 30, of Tanawan, Bustos.

Others arrested were Armando Sto. Tomas, 36, of Barangay Tibag, Bustos; Maximo De Guzman, 49, of Talampas, Bustos; Florante Lopez, Jr., 39, of Plaridel; Reynaldo Caluag Jr., 38, of Bustos; Christoper Correa, of Norzagaray; Edgar Mendoza, 43, of Bustos; Richard Delos Santos, 33, of Candaba, Pampanga; Benjamin Laqui, 26, of Candaba, Pampanga; and Hermie Anas, 36, of Bustos, Bulacan.

Based on the report, the suspects were arrested while they were caught in the act of betting in game of cockfighti­ng which is broadcast online.

Delos Santos, Laqui, and Anas yielded a .45caliber pistol, a Magnum 357 revolver, and a .38caliber revolver, respective­ly.
