- By EMMIE V. ABADILLA

Philippine Airlines this week unveiled its revitalized Mabuhay Miles Program, providing greater mileage rewards, expanded program-partner options, more flexibility in earning and redeeming miles, additional travel perks, and ancillary offerings.

The enhanced loyalty program now offers greater seat availability per flight for rewards redemption which will provide members the chance to convert miles to seats even on peak season.

The program aims to partner with more establishments for flying, shopping, dining, driving and unwinding. Current partners include financial institutions, hotels, telecommunication firms, foreign airlines, retailers and other travel-related companies.

Soon-to-be-introduced service innovations include Mabuhay Miles Travel Card and the myPALshop.

The Mabuhay Miles Travel Card is the only multi-currency prepaid card in the market that allows a member to earn and redeem miles for every purchase made with partner-merchants while the myPALshop will be PAL’s online store where one can shop (hotel deals, car rentals, tours and recreation packages, health, fashion, beauty and electronic items) and earn miles.

"We envision the Mabuhay Miles Program to be one of the key drivers in making Philippine Airlines the 'airline of choice,’” stressed PAL President Jaime J. Bautista.

“Mabuhay Miles is more than just a frequent flyer program. It has become a symbol of PAL’s commitment to delight loyal customers by providing perks and privileges that are at par and even beyond its competitors.” Added PAL VP for Ancillary Business Group Kevin Hartigan-Go.
