Muntinlupa wins high­est award for blood do­na­tion pro­gram

The Muntinlupa City gov­ern­ment was awarded the Jose Rizal Award, the high­est award for mo­bile blood do­na­tion, dur­ing the Dugong Bayani Awards held re­cently.

Muntinlupa met the re­quire­ment of 2,000 blood units do­nated and had a to­tal of 3,800 blood units in 2015.

The Depart­ment of Health, through the Philip­pine Chil­dren’s Med­i­cal Cen­ter and Philip­pine Blood Cen­ter, lauded Muntinlupa for its out­stand­ing as­sis­tance in fill­ing blood banks to sup­port pa­tients in need.

PCMC Deputy Di­rec­tor for Hos­pi­tal Sup­port Ser­vices Dr. Farra Kristine Fon­tilla San­ti­ago awarded the ci­ta­tion to Muntinlupa.

The DOH also rec­og­nized the Ospi­tal ng Muntinlupa (Os­Mun) for its com­pli­ance with Repub­lic Act No. 10028 also known as the Ex­panded Breast­feed­ing Pro­mo­tion Act of 2009 and En­sur­ing Cru­cial Ma­ter­nity Pro­tec­tion Pro­vi­sion's to In­sti­tu­tion­al­ize Breast­feed­ing Sup­port­ive Work­places.

Os­Mun Di­rec­tor Dr. Ed­win Di­matatac pre­sented the cer­tifi­cate of recog­ni­tion to Mayor Jaime Fresnedi in the city’s flag rais­ing cer­e­mony on Dec.7.

In the cer­e­mony, Mayor Fresnedi turned over an am­bu­lance ve­hi­cle to lo­cal of­fi­cials in Barangay Ayala Ala­bang as part of the lo­cal gov­ern­ment’s med­i­cal as­sis­tance pro­gram. Each barangay in Muntinlupa was given one am­bu­lance.
