KIM READY FOR PIOLO: Kim Chiu was asked how she has been preparing for her forthcoming shoot with Piolo Pascual for a movie.
She admitted she’s become too excited to act in a film with her alltime idol. For the longest time, the dream of doing a movie with Piolo has been lingering in her heart and mind. Reports of a torrid love scene with the actor don’t seem to faze her either.
“I’m ready when he’s ready,” she seems to say.Kim graduated to adult roles via “Etiquette For Mistresses,” where she played a newbie mistress. Her film with Piolo, said to be an adult drama, is her second baptism (confirmation?) of fire.
Meanwhile, Kim chills it up with Xian Lim in Star Cinema’s “All You Need Is
Pag-ibig,” an entry to MMFF 2015.
PATERNAL THAN ROMANTIC LOVE: His present romantic love used to be his daughter.
Ian Veneracion revealed at the “All You Need Is Pag-ibig” media event that back in the day, he used to play father to Jodi Sta. Maria in a TV drama. These days, the two are better known as a love team, playing Eduardo and Amor Powers respectively in the TV remake of “Pangako Sa ’Yo.”
Ian joked that Jodi need not worry too much. In their next project together, who knows, she might play his mother!
The TV partnership between Ian and Jodi has been creating ripples among viewers who get excited watching them love, quarrel, then kiss and make up. Some people claim they find them more exciting than series leads Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.
Proof of the Ian-Jodi power hotness is their casting in Antoinette Jadaone’s “All You Need Is Pag-ibig” in support of Kris Aquino and Derek Ramsay.
SHE WAS A BABY THEN: During a media merienda recently, lead actor Gabby Concepcion narrated how he first met his “Because of You” leading lady Carla Abellana.
“I first met her when she was a toddler,” Gabby recalled. Carla is daughter of Rey Abellana, who belonged to Gabby’s batch of ’80s actors.
Funnier still was Gabby’s anecdote about how he and Rey met one day back in the ’80s when both paced the same hospital corridors as their wives (or partners) gave birth. It was the time Sharon Cuneta was giving birth to KC. “Buti na lang hindi si Carla ang pinapanganak noon but her ate,” he laughed.
Gabby said he never imagined the day would come when he would be paired with the daughter of his good friend Rey.
“Because of You” tells a light-hearted, three-cornered love story with Rafael Rosell playing the third wheel.
HOLIDAY EXPRESS BUS: I have yet to try the Holiday Express Bus launched recently by government.
I think that if implemented well enough, it’s a commendable idea.
The air-conditioned bus service allows non-stop travel from Trinoma in Quezon City to a designated spot in Makati and back, using the uninterrupted, so-called APEC lane on EDSA. A ride costs only 80 pesos, cheaper than taking a taxi.
Some 20 tourist buses with a capacity of 50 passengers each are plying the route, half of them starting from SM Megamall in Mandaluyong.
