Gov’t hospital chief nurse slain, probe on

-

CABADBARAN CITY, Agusan del Norte – Police investigators are zeroing in on three possible angles in the merciless killing of a government hospital chief nurse last December 9.

Chief Inspector Jorge Fernandez of the Cabadbaran City Police Station refused to divulge other details so as not to jeopardize the ongoing probe and follow up operations.

The victim, Maria Paz Elacion, 58, chief nurse of Cabadbaran Emergency Hospital was found lifeless near the hospital dormitory Wednesday morning.

Her remains bore stab and gunshot wounds.

Patients and their relatives recalled hearing what sounded like gunshots that morning. They refused to elaborate when pressed for more details.

It was gathered that prior to the discovery of the murder, Elacion had an argument with an individual inside the hospital premises.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Nurses Association - Agusan del Norte Chapter condemned the brutal killing of Elacion and appealed to CCPS to fast-track its investigation for the immediate arrest of those behind the dastardly attack. (Mike U. Crismundo)
