Extortion suspects arrested

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Two suspected extortionists were arrested in Midsayap, North Cotabato last Wednesday. The suspects were identified as Omar Soledad, an employee of a bus company, and Police Officer 1 Howel Dequita of the Maritime Unit of the Philippine National Police based in General Santos City. Reports said the suspects were arrested in an entrapment operation, through help from their would-be victims, Rosena and Renah Sinco, in a stateowned bank in Poblacion, Midsayap. The Sincos told authorities that the suspects threatened to sabotage their business operations if they refuse to cough up extortion money monthly. (Malu Cadelina Manar)
