Peugeot 301 at stake in golf tilt

A Peugeot 301 and a grand golf adventure in Kota Kinabalu sponsored by Sabah Tourism Board are among the prizes up for grabs in the eighth Summit Point Invitation­al tournament firing off today and tomorrow at the Summit Point Golf and Country Club.

It will mark the first time that the Summit Point Invitation­al will be held as a two-day tournament with the expected maximum participat­ion of 224 players playing the best-ball and aggregate format on a 18hole course inspired by holes of the world’s best-known courses, including Oakland Hills, Royal Dornoch, Pine Valley, Sotogrande and Augusta National, among others.

The Peugeot 301 tops the package of hole-in-one prizes that also includes a Texas Eagle golf cart, Yamaha golf cart, Vespa motorcycle, APE Piaggo passenger vehicle, Mizuno golf set and R100,000 cash, according to Summit Point director and tournament committee member Lino Magpantay.

Backers of the event are Sabah Tourism Board, Kiga Inc. (corporate sponsors), and Lemans, Summit Point Realty and Developmen­t Corp. Sta Lucia Realty & Developmen­t, Inc., Auster catering and event planning (major sponsors).
