EWC alumni conference at Manila Hotel

Over 300 international scholars gathered at the Manila Hotel for the East-West Center's (EWC) major international alumni conference which culminates today. The delegates include scholars, officials, educators, and business leaders from dozens of countries. On opening day last Friday, President Aquino lauded the EWC's vital role in fostering understanding and harmony. "In bridging the divides between our respective contexts, it is my belief that the EastWest Center, its fellows, and alumni can play an even greater, more active role by enriching the means by which we communicate, promoting more positive insights about one another, and facilitating a deeper appreciation for both our similarities and diversities," the President said.
