21 nabbed for illegal fishing

CAMP GARCIA, Cavite — Twenty-one illegal fishermen were arrested recently by police and naval operatives for illegally fishing in waters off Noveleta and Naic, this province, the Police Provincial Office (PPO) reported yesterday. In Noveleta, police said the 10 arrested for dynamite fishing midafterno­on Friday were from Tanza and Rosario municipali­ties. They yielded six bottles containing ammonium nitrate, three blasting caps, and their fishing boats “Gang Nolie” and “Justine.” A day earlier, Chief Inspector Gil Tisado Torralba, Naic police chief, said his men and a Philippine Navy team arrested 11 boat captains and seized their boats and fine mesh fishing net.
