Police intel operative kills 2 attackers in Bulacan
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Two unidentified gunmen believed to be hired killers were shot dead before dawn yesterday as they tried to kill a police intelligence operative inside his house in Barangay Poblacion, Norzagaray, Bulacan.
Chief Superintendent Rudy Lacadin, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) director, said Police Officer 3 Jonathan de Belen shot it out with two armed men who allegedly barged into his rented apartment around 4 a.m.
Citing initial investigation, Lacadin said PO-3 De Belen was alerted by the unusual barking of his dog and went out to look around the compound of his apartment.
That was when PO-3 De Belen spotted the gunmen, who immediately fired at him. He returned fire and fatally hit both intruders, armed with a .45-caliber pistol and a .38-cal. snub-nose revolver.
The intelligence operative told investigators that he had been receiving death threats recently.
