No. 5 most wanted drug offender falls in QC ops

A top drug personalit­y was among those arrested in a series of operations by anti-illegal drugs operatives in Quezon City Thursday evening until Friday morning.

Reports reaching the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) headquarte­rs in Camp Karingal identified the arrested persons as Gil Capistrano, 46, of Barangay Roxas District, Quezon City; Aris Aguinaldo, 23, of Taguig City; Ricklyn Torres, 22, of Brgy. Silangan, Quezon City; Roland Funa, 33, of Parañaque City, Paulo Libunao, 30, of Project 3, Quezon City; and Jeffrey Vazquez, 31, of Mandaluyon­g City.

Capistrano, also known as "Mac Mac," was listed by the Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency (PDEA) as No. 5 in the priority target drug personalit­ies in Quezon City.

He was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the PDEA, in coordinati­on with Kamuning police, around 6:30 p.m. Thursday on Gumamela St., Brgy. Roxas District.

The operation had caught Capistrano yielding two small heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu, and the 200 marked money he received from a poseur-buyer.

Aguinaldo, Torres, Funa and Libunao, meanwhile, were arrested during a "One Time Big Time" operation by Cubao anti-illegal drugs operatives around 11:45 p.m. at a hotel along Annapolis St., Brgy. E. Rodriguez.
