Melting Pot Festival

TARLAC CITY, Tarlac — A trade fair at the plazuela opened on the sixth day of this city’s “5th Melting Pot Festival” last Saturday to showcase local products made of sugarcane and farm-fresh vegetables, fruits, and even rice. Mayor Gelacio Manalang said the fair aims to promote products of local micro, small, and medium entreprene­urs (MSMEs) and cooperativ­es in the city. This year’s festival, which carries the theme “Ituloy ang Sigla sa Lungsod ng Tarlac (Continuing the Vigor of Tarlac City,” will culminate on January 20 – the feast day of the city’s patron, Saint Sebastian – with a “Piyesta Pansitan sa Ligtasan” and “Grand Parade with the Stars.” (Mar T.
