Radio DJ dies in Albay road crash

CAMP GENERAL SIMEON OLA, Legazpi City – An 18year-old radio station disc jockey, (DJ) who was said to be under the influence of liquor perished after she was thrown off her motorcycle along the national highway of Barangay Bonot, Legazpi City, Albay before dawn yesterday.

Police identified the victim as Janfil Yuson, of Barangay San Jose, Malilipot, Albay and a DJ of OK-FM, an FM station of Peoples Broadcasti­ng Network based in Legazpi City.

Initial investigat­ion disclosed that Yuson and a back rider identified as Arjie Budlong, 27, were heading to Barangay Bonot onboard Yuson’s Hao Jue 125 motorcycle when they were thrown off the vehicle at around 3:30 a.m.

Yuson sustained fatal head inA juries while Budlong sustained minor injuries. Budlong is still recuperati­ng at the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital.

Meanwhile in an interview over Bombo Radyo Legazpi, Budlong admitted he and the fatality were drunk and were not wearing helmet when the incident happened. (Niño Luces)
