Amalia Fuentes getting better

We have a bit of good news to the friends, fans and followers of Ms. Amalia Fuentes.
The 75-year- old Philippine movie queen, who suffered a stroke last Oct. 9 in Seoul, South Korea, has been responding positively to rehabilitation efforts by her doctors at a private hospital in Quezon City.
According to a relative of the veteran actress- producer, the patient could now speak but isn’t completely healed. Her condition has improved a lot, says the source.
In a few days, Amalia, ranked among the wealthiest actors in the Philippines, is scheduled to be released from hospital. Her New Manila mansion has been renovated to accommodate another room on the ground floor to serve as her new quarters.
Friends are encouraged to pray some more for Amalia, who lost her only child, Liezl Martinez, to cancer in 2015. Amalia was working on her comeback film, Elwood Perez’s “Vaya Con Dios,” before she fell ill.

EOS: One fine day, psychologists and/ or sociologists should sit down and study why people allow themselves to be photographed or videotaped in compromising positions. These positions are often sexual in nature.
What’s even more alarming is the fact that these shots, featuring some young actors, are now being posted online for all the world to see.
During a recent event, media people were talking about the possible reasons why actors resort to this tactic, either intentionally or accidentally.
Judging from the way the concerned actors behave in those postings, they willingly subjected themselves to such coverages or, you can say, uncoverages. It is possible that some even took the pictures themselves, if they didn’t ask the help of a friend to do it for them?

BA: We could only think of one simple reason why they do this. It is probably to cause a stir in showbiz circles, arouse the curiosity of a greater audience.
Such publicity stunt, which comes for free and definitely not paid for, in the eyes of some talent handlers, can turn unknown or relatively known aspirants from being cold turkey to hot property.
The question remains: Do those postings generate the results the concerned actors wanted?
On the other hand, those in the know claim that such pictures or videos were taken during an innocent period in these young people’s lives. Some were grabbed from chats where men and women engage in virtual sexual encounters.
Careful is the key word here, as in any.
USE CAMERA PHONE WISE-
LY: Speaking of social media, no one should underestimate its power in this day and age.
At a time when everyone but everyone has a cell phone, including the garbage man who picks up your trash and the taho vendor who roams our streets, people are, in effect, roving reporters.
We should use our camera phones to record events considered newsworthy. They could effect change and call attention of both local and national government to important matters.
Use your phones wisely and become vehicles of change, especially during this election season.
