Bradley’s new style may make him vulnerable

Tim Bradley’s metamorphosis from being calculated and smart to being what he has now become, daring, dashing and dauntless, will result to a far more different ending to his first two fights with Manny Pacquiao.

Buboy Fernandez, who is taking charge of Pacquiao’s training in the absence of Freddie Roach, told the Bulletin that Bradley’s transformation, will spell his doom when he gets it for the third time with the Filipino icon on April 9 in Las Vegas.

“Nagbago talaga siya (He really changed his style),” Fernandez said referring to Bradley’s decision to become more aggressive and engaging with his opponent.

“In the first two fights, mas maingat si Bradley at hindi basta-basta nakikipagsabayan,” observed Fernandez, noting that the 32-year- old California native was too concerned about not getting hit squarely.

But since deciding to dump his old trainer Joel Diaz with new recruit Teddy Atlas, Bradley has been modified into a crowd-pleasing puncher as evidenced by his ninth-round destruction of a wild-swinging but robotic guy Pacquiao failed to put away in 2013Brandon Rios.

But Bradley’s sudden transformation will work in favor of Pacquiao, who will kick off training camp proper this Monday with the arrival of Hall of Fame cornerman Freddie Roach on Sunday from the US.

“Pag napanatili ni Bradley at ginamit niya ang bagong style niya kay Brod (Pacquiao), babagsak na ‘yan,” assured Fernandez, who is likewise keenly awaiting Roach’s arrival from Los Angeles so they could all buckle down to work under a stricter training atmosphere.
