IZA FOR MOTHER EARTH

-

ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS provider World Wide Fund for Nature ( WWF- Philippines) announced the appointment of its latest National Ambassador – multi-awarded actress and TV personality Iza Calzado.

Calzado joins the growing family of celebrities who are helping spread WWF’s solutions on climate change, conservation, resource protection and environmental education.

WWF-Philippines President Joel Palma believes Iza is the perfect choice.

“Iza embodies the empowered Filipina who leads an active, healthy and sustainable lifestyle. Plus, she’s actively involved in raising environmental awareness,” he said.

The actress is excited to become part of the organization and hopes to share WWF solutions – plus her own unique lessons – to raise public awareness on ecological issues.

“It’s time for us to give extra attention to environmental solutions and how we can turn the tide if we work together, today,” said Calzado.

WWF-Philippines celebrates its 20th year this 2016. Among its wellknown projects are Earth Hour, the world’s largest environmental massaction; the conservation of iconic species like the whale sharks of Donsol; plus a vigorous environmental education drive, which has reached over 700,000 children across the country.

“We’re really excited to work with Iza. We believe she’ll be a great WWF ambassador in reaching our goals and touching the hearts of people,” shared longtime WWF-Philippines National Ambassadors Marc Nelson and Rovilson Ferdnandez.

Other WWF-Philippines National Ambassadors include Climate Solutions Steward Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski, Marine Conservation Steward Luis Manzano, Forest Conservation Steward Piolo Pascual, plus Environmental Education Stewards Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi, with their kids Mavy and Cassy.

WWF hopes that by engaging celebrity-advocates, more Pinoys will embrace the organization’s solutions. Log on to wwf.org.ph to learn more about WWF’s work in the Philippines.
