exports, especially those that come from Visayas and Northern Luzon.

“This is good news for exporters from Cebu and Clark. At present, cargoes from Cebu are being sent to Manila before it is loaded on the Emirates aircraft which affects the condition of perishable goods.

Export of live fish and other perishable products can now be accommodated as the circular service is considered a direct flight, and its early morning arrival in Dubai makes immediate connections to most of Europe and America possible,” noted Rusela Rubin, Cargo Manager, Emirates SkyCargo Philippines.

Exporters and agents from Clark will now be able to save on trucking costs and time lost to delivering cargo to Manila, especially during peak hours when road congestion makes travel unbearable.

With a few weeks left until its inaugural service, Emirates in Dubai hosted over 75 travel industry partners for its Cebu and Clark Route Launch Presentation, presented jointly with the Philippine Tourism Promotions Board. The presentation focused on educating the travel trade industry around Emirates’ upcoming two gateways.

A separate presentation, hosted by Emirates Philippines, was held in Cebu for over 100 local travel industry partners on February 29. Another presentation for over 100 local and national travel industry partners was also held in Clark on March 2.

The presentation informed Emirates’ travel partners in the Philippines about its premium onboard offerings in both its Economy and Business classes, Emirates’ world-class cuisine and awardwinning wines, frequent-flyer program Emirates SkyWards and the airline’s extensive route network of over 150 destinations in 80 countries across six continents, boosting connectivity from Europe and other regions for tourism and trade benefits with Emirates links to the Philippines.

Travel partners were also informed of Emirates SkyCargo’s additional capacity to facilitate trade between Cebu, Clark and the rest of the world by carrying up to 14 tonnes in the bellyhold of its Boeing 777-300ER daily.

Mactan-Cebu International Airport is the second busiest airport in the Philippines with the capacity to handle 4.5 million passengers a year and will soon surge to 12.5 million when the new terminal is unveiled by June, 2018. Meanwhile, Clark International Airport is one of the largest aviation complexes in Asia with two runways in parallel configuration that can be easily extended to 4km to accommodate new generation wide-bodied aircrafts.

The two-class configured Boeing 777300ER offers 42 seats in Business Class and 386 seats in Economy. Passengers travelling on Emirates’ Boeing 777300ER will be able to enjoy the airline’s award-winning ice entertainment system with more than 500 channels of ondemand entertainment to choose from, including Filipino movies and music.

Emirates flights to and from the Philippines also cater to the needs of the Filipino market with Filipino-speaking cabin crew on board, and inflight cuisine options with popular Filipino dishes. As with all Emirates flights, passengers travelling on the Cebu and Clark service will enjoy the generous Emirates baggage allowance of 30kg in Economy Class and 40kg in Business Class.
