BDO FOUNDATION AND FFCCCII UNVEIL SCHOOL BUILDING IN NORTH COTABATO

-

BDO Foundation, in partnership with the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), has completed the construction of a new school building in Sibug Memorial Elementary School in Kidapawan City, North Cotabato.

Located in Barangay Sudapin, the two-classroom structure was inaugurated and turned over to administrators in an event led by BDO Gaisano Grand Mall-Cotabato-Kidapawan branch head Angel P. Gullos, BDO Cotabato-Kidapawan branch head Ronnie Galbo, BDO Foundation program director Rose Espinosa and FFCCCII council representative Martin Te.

Also in attendance were Kidapawan mayor Joseph Evangelista and Department of Education schools division superintendent Dr. KaharMacasayon.

The school building project fulfills the disaster response advocacy of BDO Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of BDO Unibank, and its rehabilitation program for provinces stricken by natural or man-made calamities. Kidapawan is one of the conflict areas identified by the foundation for its reconstruction efforts. The initiative is part of BDO Foundation’s participation in FFCCCII’s Barrio Schools Program for the construction of ten school buildings in various parts of the country affected by disasters. It also supports the Adopt-A-School Program of the Department of Education.

The school building in Sibug Memorial Elementary School is the ninth the partners have completed with another in Koronadal set for completion.

The school teaches approximately 430 grade one to six students. Prior to the construction of the new building, it had eight instructional classrooms, each occupied by as many as 54 pupils.

The new school building is expected to help the public school achieve its academic objectives and accommodate the appropriate number of students per classroom.
