- By NONOY E. LACSON

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The mayor of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi has offered a cash reward of 500,000 for any information that will lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect or suspects in the failed assassination attempt on his life.

Bongao, Tawi-Tawi Mayor Jasper S. Que said he hoped that the offer of cash reward would lead to a major breakthrough in the investigation, and finally lead to the capture of the perpetrators who tried to kill him last February 6.

Que has already fully recovered from several bullet wounds he sustained in his arm and body in the ambush.

Que urged the residents of this city to cooperate with the police in the investigation by sharing valuable infor- mation that could lead to the capture of the two motorcycle-riding men who opened fire on his vehicle along San Jose Road.

Police investigators are looking into several motives for the assassination attempt.

The spent shells and slugs recovered at the crime scene by policemen showed that the gunman used FNP90 in the attack.

According to an investigator in the case, the FNP90 is a high- powered sub-machine gun that can easily be concealed because of its size and is not that easy to obtain because of it is expensive and rare.

Que, his driver Aidarus Bustama and Tubig-Thana Chairwoman Jurmina Hasid were traveling from the Zamboanga City Airport to his residence on San Jose road when two motorcycleriding men peppered their vehicle with bullets near the Baliwasan Central School along San Jose Road around 8 a.m. on February 7, 2016.

Que, who is serving his second term as Bongao town mayor, is not running for reelection or any elective position in the coming May 9, 2016 general elections.
