Apart from the short feature category, 2016 Cinemalaya has a main competition category for full- length film entries, the finalists of which were announced August last year. “The early processing of fulllength feature application is to enable producers and directors to get enough financial support and publicity to ensure the success of their film entries,” festival director Chris Millado was quoted in various reports. The finalists for the full-length category are: “Ang Bagong Pamilya Ni Ponching” (Inna Salazar and Victor Villanueva); “Maselang Bahaghari (J.E. Tiglao); “Dagsin” (Atom Magadia); “Hiblang Abo” (Ralston Jover); “I America” (Ivan Andrew Payawal); “Kusina” (David Corpuz and Cenon Palomares); “Lando And Bugoy” (Vic Acedillo, Jr.); “Mercury Is Mine” (Jason Paul Laxamana); “Pamilya Ordinaryo” (Eduardo Roy, Jr) and “Tuos” (Derick Cabrido). Recall the foundation did away with its new breed and director’s showcase categories last year.
