Two of the five people who died during a concert in Pasay City succumbed to massive heart attack, an initial autopsy examination report of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has revealed.

The medico-legal test was conducted by Dr. Wilfredo Tiera, of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Medico-Legal Division.

What triggered the massive heart attack is yet to be determined. A toxicology examination will be conducted by the NBI, Chief Inspector Rolando Baula of the Pasay City police said.

“There are no established facts so far as to what caused it. Maybe we could get something after the result of the toxicology examination,” Baula said in an interview over dzMM.

Police investigators coordinated with the organizer of the Close Up Forever Summer concert which was held at the Mall of Asia (MOA) parking area from Saturday evening to early Sunday morning to identify all the food and beverage concessionaires during the concert.

Baula said they are not discounting the possibility that food or drinks taken by the five victims might have triggered the massive heart attacks of Lance Garcia, 36, a businessman, and Bianca Fontejon, 18.

The five victims suddenly collapsed at the height of the concert. Police said the victims apparently did not know one another.

Aside from Fontejon and Garcia, those who died in the incident were: Eric Anthony Miller, 33, an American national, Ariel Leal, and Ken Migawa,18.

Baula said they have coordinated with the US Embassy to inform the family of Miller in the United States. The relatives of Ken Migawa have been informed and his parents are coming from Japan. Migawa himself is a Filipino citizen.

As to Ariel Leal, Baula said his family has waived the autopsy for his remains.
