CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ricardo C. Marquez, yesterday ordered the sustained and stepped-up implementation of the ‘OneTime, Big-Time’ (OTBT) operations aimed at collaring wanted persons and clamping down on lawless activities.

He also directed all police regional directors, regional, provincial and city mobile force commanders and city and provincial directors as well as municipal chiefs of police to intensify their respective operations against wanted persons and crime.

During a visit at the regional headquarters of Northeastern Mindanao Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13), Ramirez expressed satisfaction over the continued success of their focused police operations and intelligence-driven initiatives under the PNP “LambatSibat” anti-criminality strategy.

“Your accomplishment is noted, continue your good work,” Ramirez told, before the rank-in-file of PRO 13 led by Chief Supt. Rolando B. Felix.

The higher command of the PNP is currently conducting ballistics examination on some 3,500 guns that were confiscated during the election season gun ban.

The policy of mandatory ballistics examination on confiscated firearms is contained in the 2013 Revised Police Operational Procedures.

According to Marquez, the guns and ammunition confiscated during the election period are enough to arm five or six battalions of combat troops.

In a command conference and post election assessment here yesterday, Chief Supt. Felix reported to Marquez that since January 2016, there were 418 most wanted persons already arrested in various parts of the region and 216 assorted high and low powered firearms were confiscated/surrendered in the Caraga region alone while 201 persons were arrested in relation to election gun ban and the suspects are already facing charges at various courts in the region.
