Filinvest plays big role in Clark project
Representatives of FIlinvest Land, Inc. (FLI), led by President and CEO Josephine Gotianun-Yap, joined the recent groundbreaking rites for Clark Green City in Tarlac. Led by the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA), the event was attended by President Aquino as guest of honor.
The groundbreaking marks the official start of the development of the 9,450-hectare Clark Green City. Located within the Clark Special Economic Zone in Tarlac, the property is part of the expansive Clark Green City, a masterplanned district envisioned to become the first smart, green and disaster-resilient metropolis in the Philippines.
Filinvest Land, Inc., in a joint venture agreement with BCDA, is the pioneer developer for Clark Green City, covering the first 288-hectare phase of the project.
Dubbed as the ‘Metropolis of the Future,’ Clark Green City adjoins the Clark Freeport Zone and the Clark International Airport. Being at the convergence of vital infrastructures and road networks, it is expected to generate billions in investments and thousands of jobs.
This modern metropolis is positioned as a destination where nature, lifestyle, business, education and industry converge into a global city based on principles of sustainability.
“As the pioneer developer involved in Clark Green City, we are excited to see this revolutionary project take off. We are proud to be a key player in this visionary endeavor and we look forward to a proactive partner for growth in this progressive economic zone. At the same time, this is also a prime opportunity to expand Filinvest’s geographic footprint in Central Luzon,” said Gotianun-Yap.
Gotianun-Yap further explained that this latest joint venture will allow the company to apply its expertise in developing master-planned, mixeduse townships.
Aside from Clark Green City, Filinvest is currently developing several large-scale townships including the 244-hectare Filinvest City in Alabang, the 677-hectare Timberland Heights and 277-hectare Havila in Rizal, the 50-hectare City di Mare in Cebu and the 358-hectare Ciudad de Calamba in Laguna.
“The Filipino lifestyle has been shifting towards this new multidimensional community paradigm where fully-integrated developments thrive, so we see this as the best approach for Clark Green City,” added Gotianun-Yap.
“We want to be able to offer a range of lifestyle, leisure, and business opportunities for both Filipinos and foreign expatriates since this are located within the high-growth Clark Special Economic Zone.”
Filinvest’s 288-hectare Clark Green City parcel will have two distinct components: an industrial and mixed-use zones with residential, office, commercial and institutional elements in a vibrant and bustling landscape smartly-enhanced by efficient circulation and connectivity.
The BCDA-Filinvest Inc. Joint Venture Corporation (JVC) will be owned 45 percent by BCDA and 55 percent by Filinvest Land, Inc.
