Probers zero-in on party drugs in concert deaths

- By JEAN FERNANDO

Homicide investigators working on the case of five people who dropped dead in the middle of a concert in Pasay City in the wee hours of Sunday morning are zeroing-in on new testimony that the victims could have drunk from a water bottle that had been passed around by drug peddlers who infiltrated the event.

Chief Inspector Rolando Baula, chief of the Station Investigation Detective Management (SIDM), they are now looking into the drug angle as the cause of death of Lance Garcia, 36, a businessman; Bianca Fontejon, 18; Eric Anthony Miller, 33, an American; Ken Migawa, 18, and Ariel Leal.

Baula said one of the witnesses, whose name has been withheld by police, claimed that prior to the discovery of the body of Fontejon, she was seen dancing and drinking from a water bottle that had been passed around by still unidentified persons.

“We have to determine whether the water from a bottle that was passed around contains illegal drugs that might have caused Fontejon to collapse and die,” Baula said.

He assured that once these persons are identified, they will face charges.

Meantime, the SIDM has already inspected the open grounds where the concert was held and pieces of evidence collected at the scene already under examination.

The SIDM chief added that they are also studying several reports from the social media on the proliferation of party drugs which they called it as “red amore” which is being sold at 1700 per capsule and “green amore” which cost 11,500.

It was learned that the red or green amore being used as a party drugs is a combination of shabu, ecstasy and Chinese Viagra.

He said that the reports from the social media on the proliferation of party drugs also came from the attendees at the concert.
