Mutilation victim identified as Batangas City trader

-

Awoman from Batangas City yesterday morning showed up at a funeral parlor in Pasay City and confirmed that the chopped off limbs found in front of the Senate compound last Wednesday belonged to her husband.

Sr. Supt. Joel Doria, Pasay City police chief, said that Helen Bacordo, 43, of Barangay E. Rosario, Batangas City went to the Veronica Funeral Homes in Libertad Street, Pasay City and positively identified the chopped arms and legs of her husband Reymundo, 50.

Helen said she managed to identify her husband’s body parts through distinguishing scars and slipper sling marks.

It was gathered that the victim was engaged in the buying and selling of cars. Her husband left their house in Batangas City on June 7 about 11 a.m. on board a gray 2015 Mitsubishi Montero with license registration plate number NH8368 which he was about to sell to a potential client.

When Reymundo failed to return home that day, Helen and her nephew, Jeffrey Villanueva, went to the Rosario Batangas Police Station the following day.

Villanueva also told the police that he texted Reymundo about 1 p.m. the same day but the victim never replied.

Helen said a friend informed them yesterday that a white sack containing chopped body parts was found at the Senate building gate located at CCP Complex, Pasay City. This prompted her to proceed to the funeral parlor.

Reymundo, it was further learned, usually informs his family of his business deals and whereabouts, especially if transactions are to be closed in Manila.

Reymundo also had with him 1500,000 which was to be deposited to a bank on the day he left home and disappeared. (Jean Fernando)
