Oppo A37 Putting more premium on advanced ‘selfies’

-

The entry-level smartphone market welcomes a new player with the OPPO A37. The company has been traage ditionally known to equip their mobile phones with impressive cameras and apparently that is the angle that this new device will be offering. The Features and Specs

It is the latest model from the OPPO A-Series, a device sporting a decent 5-inch IPS LCD display (720x1280 pixel) resolution amply surrounded by a Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4. Being an entry level phone, it is understandable why the resolution is limited to such.

Moving on, the OPPO A37 carries some decent hardware. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC backed with 2 GB of RAM. It offers owners 16 GB of internal stor- which can be expanded through the traditional aid offered by microSD card slots.

Like most entry-level phones, the OPPO A37 is dual-SIM capable where two nano-SIMS can be slotted for users who have more than one line. A 2,630 mAh battery will be tasked to keep it powered on. It comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box along with Oppo’s ColorOS 3.0 on top. The MEAT of the OPPO A37

Many are now likely wondering about the touted cameras which Oppo has been notorious for. For the record, the Oppo A37 comes with an 8 MP main camera and a front-facing 5 MP shooter for the selfie-conscious snappers.

Focusing on the main camera, how can the Oppo A37 surprise its customers with a seemingly low main camera? With most phones out in the market offering 12 MP, OPPO’s secret lies from within.

That is credited to the cameras using 1.4μm technology which technically means that the individual pixels are larger when cameras go to work. This eventually leads to brighter and less noisy images, accounting for better snaps as needed.

Aside from that, there are the sensors helping out. The OPPO A37 cameras will feature Omnibus+ technology which refers to sensors using the backside illumination for better images even in low-lit conditions.

Lastly, there are of course the apps behind the transformation of RAW image files into scintillating ones. the camera app offers support for multiple scene mode, a range of filters, shooting modes and so on.

Aside from that, there is another app likely to interest users – Beautify 4.0. As the app name connotes, Beautify 4.0 puts algorithms to work. Also, the program offers two modes for users covering different skin tones and a palm shutter mode where the countdown timer starts when the user waves his hand in front of the camera.

If we’re going to dive into how the OPPO A37 works as a phone. Then

you won’t be disappointed. The 720p screen is bright and responsive. If we take a step back and think about the high-end phones from a few years ago, we can see the 720p screen has already aged. However, the colors continue to be rich and vibrant.

It’s also a huge plus that a 720p screen also consumes less power, which does help in prolonging the already impressive 2630mAh battery life. That’s more than you can get from some entry-level phones. The quad-core 1.2GHz isn’t exactly the fastest processor out there, but it does get all computing jobs done without hiccups.

Even as an entry-level phone, a 2GB RAM is and will always be impressive (unless 4GB becomes the new entry standard) and this allows the OPPO A37 to run smoothly.

The internal 16 GB memory is a lot already. And if you toss in even a 32GB microSD card and you will have all the space you need to take as much pictures and videos as your heart’s desire. The phone is also nice to the touch. The rounded corners makes it easier to hold on to while taking photos and selfies.

Categorized as an entry-level phone, OPPO has packed the A37 with the obvious impressive camera and the features behind it, a worthy device that technically places itself in the gray area of startup or replacement phones.
