Royal Cargo taps Globe Business

- By EMMIE V. ABADILLA

Globe Telecom, through its enterprise information and communications technology arm Globe Business, powers Royal Cargo, a premier logistics provider in the Philippines, with one of its world-class cloud-based solutions – Microsoft O365.

With O365 and direct Internet provided by Globe, Royal Cargo employees can access, store, transmit, and manipulate information, application and files virtually anywhere using any personal computer or tablet.

Powered by Microsoft Exchange Online, O365 allows users to sync and access business-class emails, Instant Messaging (IM), contacts and shared calendars. O365 also lets users view and edit Word, Excel and Powerpoint files on multiple mobile devices from any browser.

"Email communication plays a crucial part in our business when we deal with users and customers worldwide. Before O365, we had to deal with email delays, connectivity issue and frequent downtime caused by either network or server issue,” says Calvert ‘Abet’ M. Cabungcal, Vice President for Global I.T. of Royal Cargo, Inc.

The solution ensures that their email system is secured and accessible in the cloud so that they focus on business critical operations with no more worries about server maintenance, updates, deployment, and compliance.

Royal Cargo has over 35 years of experience in cargo transportation and handling and has a global network of owned companies and trusted agents.

Following its vision to become a world-class total logistics provider and its commitment to bring up-to-date technology, the company also acquired Canvas Mobile Forms licenses and has been using them successfully since 2014.

With Canvas, drivers can send electronic proof of deliveries via their smartphones to customers and head office at an instant.
