When striptease turns burlesque
NOT everyone can tell a joke. And not everyone can do a striptease. This week, PDu30 had the press hanging onto his every word when he updated them on the war vs. drugs. He led them on with juicy bits, intimating very high political patronage… dropping hint that a politician’s driver even collected tong for the his boss’ candidature from local drug lords.
He could have left it at that. But like at his fireside chats, when the press pressed… and the President spilled the beans and gave the game away.
A cocked gun is a threat…but if you pull the trigger, you lose its threat value. Why spoil a good striptease into a burlesque?
PDu30 could learn from his favorite presidents, Ferdinand Marcos and Fidel V. Ramos, who calibrated what they dished out to the press.
