Why Duterte loves Giordano polo shirts

President Duterte is fond of wearing his polo shirt with an embroidered lion badge not just because it’s cool and comfortable.

The President admitted that he likes the Giordano polo shirts because the lion depicts his strong resolve to fight drug lords and their cohorts in government.

The red lion also has sentimental value for the President since it is the logo of his alma mater, San Beda College of Law.

“You know why I chose this shirt? I have plenty shirts like this. What’s this brand? Giordano,” the President said in Filipino during visit to Samar.

“This is also our logo in San Beda so to drug criminals, just stop it. At the end of the day, if we don’t understand each other, you will be dead,” said Duterte who was wearing his favorite white shirt.

The President traveled to Catbalogan, Samar, to visit the wake of Police Officer 1 Gary Cabaguing who was killed in an anti-drug operation. From Samar, he flew to nearby Tacloban, Leyte to meet the wounded soldiers and policemen on National Heroes’ Day.

“I am here to impress upon you the importance of my drive and it pains me deeply to see a person dying in the fulfillment of his duty,” he said.
