Rizal: Martial arts for security

-

RIZAL PROVINCE – Martial arts experts and practitioners based in the province have been going the rounds of communities here and Metro Manila, to train village peace keepers and volunteers on self defense which they could use in their anti-crime campaigns. Members of the Philippine Gajilomo Universal Style of Martial Arts (GuZma), a martial arts group founded by Francisco Gajilomo, Jr., hold training programs on self defense and other martial arts techniques for village peacekeepers and volunteers after the government intensified the war on illegal drugs. Recently, the GuZma martial artists were tapped to train volunteer watchmen and women of Barangays Santa Ana and Lupang Arenda in Taytay, Rizal. The group hopes to visit other communities soon as part of its socio civic commitment to help maintain peace and order in the country. (Nel B. Andrade)
