Duterte condoles with slain cop’s family

TACLOBAN CITY — President Duterte flew to Catbalogan City in Samar on Monday to condole with the family of a slain policeman before proceeding to Tacloban City to visit a wounded policeman who survived the shooting incident last week.

Duterte visited the wake for PO1 Gary Cabaguing who was killed in a police operation in Marabut, Samar.

Sr. Supt. Domingo S. Cabillan of the Operations Division of the Police 8 Regional Office, said the President then visited the wounded policeman, identified only as Villanueva, at the Divine Word University hospital in Tacloban.

It was Duterte’s second visit to Catbalogan in a month. Two weeks ago, he met with soldiers of the 8th Infantry Division in Camp Lukban.

Cabaguing was killed by Ernesto Decorenia who was about to be arrested on suspicion of trafficking drugs.

Villanueva was wounded in the same operation. (Nestor L. Abrematea)
