BGC theater features modern cooling tech
Concepcion Building & Industrial Solutions was tapped by Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation to equip the soon-to-rise Maybank Performing Arts Theater with state-of-the art cooling technologies.
The theater will complement the Bonifacio Global City (BGC) Arts Center, and Midea’s innovative temperature control system is seen to deliver big in terms of energy efficiency and cooling comfort to BGC’s center of cultural activity.
The theater is currently being equipped with the Midea V5X, Midea’s latest model of commercial air-conditioning system that comes with advanced Full Direct (DC) Inverter Compressor and Pulse Motor Valve Technology. Also called Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF), this cooling technology is known for reducing energy consumption, especially on part-load conditions, providing cooling comfort on demand, and operating quietly and efficiently as well.
“To provide superior comfort to guests in the Maybank Performing Arts Theater, the Midea V5X uses VRF technology, which can be compared to a car’s ‘cruise control’ system. VRF enables the user to set the desired temperature, then the inverter compressor uses only the amount of energy required to maintain that temperature,” explained Rajan Komarasu, Group Director of Concepcion Building and Industrial Solutions (BIS).
“The VRF technology keeps temperatures comfortable while using less energy and waste, ensuring lower operating costs, maximized savings, and a smaller carbon footprint,” he concluded.
