Ford syncs to the future of car tech
By the end of 2016, Ford aims bring out the Sync 3 smart technology to their vehicles. It had taken them a while, but after several years of development, we can say that Ford is on the right track right now hauling in what could be the future of automotives.
Ford has introduced zones – where users have accessed to three different windows. The first is for navigation, audio, and phone connectivity. There is a tool tray shows other options such as checking the climate, apps, settings, and temperature.
Sync 3 is powered with a QNX OS by BlackBerry. It features AppLink, which connects to your apps on your smartphone. The Sync 3 automatically locates all compatible apps. It is compatible to Apple’s CarPlay and Android Auto, leaving no driver and families behind from their smartphones.
The AppLink also allows the use of voice commands and the steering wheel itself has buttons that allows users to access a smartphone’s apps.
The SYNC 3’s interface has large touch buttons and has a high contrast. This makes for easier navigation even glancing them through the peripherals. Also, it’s worth noting that the interface has the response speed and smoothness of a flagship smartphone.
The SYNC 3 is part of Ford’s efforts in delivering a seamless digital experience as smartphones continue to become a necessity in daily lives. (Jonathan Castillo)
