Ortegas hail bail denial for ex-gov

The family of the late environmentalist and radio commentator Gerry Ortega has hailed the decision of a local court to deny bail to one of his suspected murderers, former Palawan Governor Joel Reyes. “Our family welcomes the decision of Judge Angelo R. Arizala to deny bail to former Palawan Governor Joel Reyes, after having found strong evidence of guilt for the murder of Doc Gerry Ortega,” read the statement of Ortega’s daughter, Michaella. “We continue to fight for justice,” she assured. Meanwhile, Michaella said that her family will remain vigilant as the murder trial against Joel Reyes and his brother, former Coron Mayor Mario Reyes, proceed in its later stages. “Our family continues to hope that truth and justice will prevail.” she said.
