3 ASG men with explosives nabbed

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Three suspected members of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) were arrested and confiscated from their possession explosives and hand guns at dawn yesterday at the village of Pasonanca in this city. Police Regional Director for Zamboanga Peninsula or Region 9 Chief Supt Billy Beltran said yesterday police and military agents swooped down a suspected hideout of the ASG located at Motor pool, Pasonanca in this city about 3:20 am and arrested three ASG members. Betran identified the arrested ASG as Jamar Musa y Maing, 44, Ahmad Tandih y Lawisan, 33 and Omar Kumbing y Tandih, 36. Beltran said policemen recovered from the possession of the suspects two fragmentation grenade, one Caliber 38 with 6 Ammos and two cellphones. (Nonoy E. Lacson)
