-

The 27th Filipino Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF) opens today with all 8 teams in the premier Division A expected to go all-out as the top three finishers will be invited to play in the prestigious Philippine Secondary Schools Basketball Championship in December.

Multi-titled Chiang Kai Shek College starts its “Drive for Five” against Paco Citizen Academy Foundation at 5:30 p.m. in what could be the highlight of a heavy schedule for the day as action in Division B and Developmental Division also get under way in different venues.

The game between CKSC and PCAF will be held the newly-renovated CKSC gym in Tondo with Uno High School and St. Stephen High School hosting some of the games of the tournament sponsored by Freego Jeans with Molten as official ball.

FCAAF founder Chan Cuan will be the special guest in the opening ceremony with league president Alex Yap Cho Ty and chairman Daniel Ong, and tournament director Sunny Co expected to welcome players and other guests.

Edster Sy, a sports marketing specialist, believes Hope Christian High School, led by Harvey Pagsanjan, will be CKSC’s biggest stumbling block in its five-peat bid.

Jonas Tibayan and Martin Galinato will spearhead CKSC’s bid.

Other teams competing in Division A are Manila Patriotic School, St. Jude Catholic School, St. Stephen High School, Philippine Christian College, and MGC New Life Christian Academy.
