Drug suspect killed in QC buy-bust operation

A drug suspect who is said to be on the drug watch list of the Batasan Police Station (PS-6) was killed in a buy-bust in Quezon City (QC)on Monday evening.

Police identified the suspect as Jerwin Rivera alias “Utoy,” about 30-35 years old, who was wearing shorts and white shirt.

He was killed in a house on San Isidro Street, Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City, at about 7:50 p.m., when some 25 anti-illegal operatives from the PS-6 carried out a buy-bust operation against Rivera.

Rivera reportedly handed the undercover agent shabu worth 1500. But Rivera reportedly sensed that he was dealing with the police and he drew his gun and shot at the raiding team. He was killed as the police returned fire. He succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head and body, probers said.

Crime scene investigat­ors seized a loaded caliber .45 Colt pistol without serial number, two heat-sealed sachets of shabu, and drug parapherna­lia. They also retrieved the marked money from Rivera.
