Water supply interruption in 15 QC barangays
Fifteen barangays in Quezon City will experience a 43-hour water supply interruption starting Monday (December 5) up to Wednesday (December 7) as west zone water concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. will undertake the replacement of defective valve at the primary pipeline.
The affected barangays include Apolonio Samson, Baesa, Bahay Toro, Bungad, Damayan, Del Monte, Katipunan, Mariblo, Paltok, Paraiso, San Antonio, Sangandaan, Talipapa, Tandang Sora and Veterans Village.
Maynilad said a defective valve on a primary line along Tandang Sora Avenue has to be replaced.
Replacing a valve of the 1.2-meter diameter pipeline will cause a service interruption from 8:00 p.m. on December 5 to 4:00 p.m. on December 7.
“Valves are necessary for managing the flow and pressure of water inside our pipelines. Hence, it is essential that we have this defective valve replaced immediately to prevent any problems from occurring in the future,” Maynilad Water Supply Operations Head Ronaldo Padua said.
Fourteen water tankers will be on standby to the serve the affected areas. Customers may call Maynilad’s Water Tankering Hotline at (902) 737-3311 to ask for water delivery.
