‘Tourist police’
BUTUAN CITY – More tourist police are now deployed to add to the present 2,000 cops in different tourist destinations in Caraga Region in time for the holiday season. Police Regional OfficeRegion 13 (PRO-13) Director Chief Supt. Rolando B. Felix told Manila Bulletin that the deployment of more tourist police aims to beef up police stations in frequently-visited areas during the holidays. Some of the places with many visitors are the “Paradise Island” of Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte; the Enchanted River in Hinatuan town and Britania Group of Islands in San Agustin, both in Surigao del Sur; the so called “Majestic Niagara” Tinuy-an Falls in Bislig City; and the Balanghai Shrine in Butuan City.
