‘Tourist police’

BUTUAN CITY – More tourist police are now deployed to add to the present 2,000 cops in different tourist destinatio­ns in Caraga Region in time for the holiday season. Police Regional OfficeRegi­on 13 (PRO-13) Director Chief Supt. Rolando B. Felix told Manila Bulletin that the deployment of more tourist police aims to beef up police stations in frequently-visited areas during the holidays. Some of the places with many visitors are the “Paradise Island” of Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte; the Enchanted River in Hinatuan town and Britania Group of Islands in San Agustin, both in Surigao del Sur; the so called “Majestic Niagara” Tinuy-an Falls in Bislig City; and the Balanghai Shrine in Butuan City.
