New US ambassador arrives, lauds ‘deep bond’ between US and PH
Praising the enduring bond between the Philippines and the United States as “one of the most important special partnerships anywhere,” US Ambassador-Designate Sung Kim said yesterday he is “very confident that our relationship will grow and deepen in the years to come.”
The Korea-born Kim arrived Thursday night at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and was welcomed by US Deputy Chief of Mission in Manila Michael Klechesky.
In his short arrival speech, Kim said he looks forward to working with the Philippine government to strengthen the very important partnership between the two countries.
“Now I am finally here to contribute to one of the most important special partnerships anywhere,” he said.
