‘Brigada Eskwela’ turnout up
The Department of Education (DepEd) has reported a better turnout for this year’s “Brigada Eskwela.” Education Secretary Leonor Briones said that the better turn out for the 2016 National Schools Maintenance Week, also known as the “Brigada Eskwela” has once again proved that making quality basic education accessible for all Filipinos is the responsibility and success of the entire community. “We are all responsible for the kind of education we share with our learners, the kind of citizens we mold,” Briones said. According to Director for External Partnerships Services (EPS) Margarita Consolacion Ballesteros, DepEd has generated resources amounting to 14,763,949,535.83 for this year’s “Brigada Eskwela” compared to the previous year’s 13,622,540,636.64.
