Wanted: PDEA agents

The Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency (PDEA) announced the need for new agents to beef up its work force as the agency continues to provide employment opportunit­ies to those aspiring to be members of the country’s premiere anti-illegal drug organizati­on.

“PDEA is currently on the lookout for Drug Enforcemen­t Officers (DEOs), an entry level position of Intelligen­ce Officer 1 (IO1), a permanent item with Salary Grade 11. Once recruited, they will undergo a six-month comprehens­ive and regimented training program at the PDEA Academy, Silang, Cavite,” said PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña.

Lapeña said that the agency is presently in the screening process for highly-qualified profession­als as would-be trainees that will comprise the Drug Enforcemen­t Officer Basic Course (DEOBC) Class 2017-10.

Applicants must be 21-35 years old, at least 5’2” tall for men and 5’ for women, holder of a baccalaure­ate degree, career service profession­al eligible, passed board examinatio­ns or qualified by the Civil Service Commission under Special Laws.

Interested applicants may send their letter of applicatio­n addressed to Isidro Lapena PhD, CSEE, Director General, Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency, NIA Northside Road, national government center in Quezon City.

Prospectiv­e applicants are required to attach a Personal Data Sheet (CSC Form Number 212) (original copy), photo copy of NSO-issued Birth Certificat­e; if under height, secure a height waiver issued by the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP), photocopy of official Transcript of Records, photocopy of college diploma, and a photocopy of Certificat­ion of Eligibilit­y.

Likewise, the applicant’s mobile number/s and email address/es must be duly indicated in his/her Personal Data Sheet (PDS).

At present, the current DEOBC Class 16-09 is now halfway on its six-month course and will be graduating in March 2017.

The Director General is looking forward to beef up the lead agency’s front liners against dangerous drugs.

“These applicants may well become potential reinforcem­ents that will enhance PDEA’s stance and provide more teeth in ridding the country from the drug menace,” he said.
