Miss U photo session goes to Iloilo

ILOILO CITY – One of the photo sessions for the 2017 Miss Universe pageant will be held in this city.

Senator Franklin Drilon, an Ilonggo, met with Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo Dec. 1 to discuss preparations for the photo shoot scheduled in January 2017.

One of the locations considered for the photo session of the Miss Universe contestants are Miag-ao Church in Miag-ao town, Iloilo province. The church is the only World UNESCO Heritage Site in the Visayas.

Other possible locations are the Iloilo Esplanade, the Iloilo Convention Center and the Molo Church. All three are in Iloilo City.

In a statement, Drilon said the slated photo shoot featuring candidates of the most prestigious beauty pageant will showcase Iloilo’s progress.

Drilon reportedly requested DOT to include Iloilo as one of the locations for sidelights of next year’s Miss Universe.
