DILG holds orientatio­n on federal system of gov’t

BUTUAN CITY – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) will start the orientatio­n sessions on the federal system of government at the provincial office of Agusan del Norte here on Dec. 5, Monday. Local officials are expected to attend the session.

Gerald Tan, DILG assistant program manager on federalism will be the guest of honor and speaker, and DILG officials will be resource speakers.

Provincial officials led by Gov. Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. AmanteMatb­a will be present during the orientatio­n.

The orientatio­n is part of the nationwide campaign on the federal form of government which President Duterte has vowed to work for in a speech before some 400 participan­ts in the 3rd Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Local Government Summit at SMX Convention Center in Davao City.

During the orientatio­n, the DILG will also launch the Mamamayang Ayaw sa Anomalya Mamamayang Ayaw sa Iligal na Droga (MASA MASID) program, a community-based initiative to engage volunteers in the fight against criminalit­y, corruption and illegal drugs.
